Checking-in
Rotterdam Airport prides itself in its short check-in/check-out times. The check-in desks are open from 2 hours before the departure time of your flight. For scheduled flights with VLM Airlines, KLM and Welcome Air, check-in is possible right up until 30 minutes before take-off. However we advise you to arrive at the airport in good time. For holiday flights and scheduled flights with transavia.com you are requested to check in no later than one and a half hours before the scheduled departure time. For these flights, passengers who report to the desk later than 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time are not accepted.
In order to check in, you must report to the check-in desk of the airline with which you are flying, where you will be asked to show a valid identity document (passport or European identity card) and of course, your ticket. Nowadays, you usually do not receive a paper ticket on booking, but receive only a booking confirmation, in most cases via e-mail. This confirmation, together with your valid ID document, is sufficient to check in. You will see the number of the check-in desk for your flight on the screens in the transit hall.
At the check-in desk, you will be given a boarding card and your hold baggage will be weighed and provided with a baggage label. The hold baggage will then be directed via a conveyor belt, to scanning equipment where a scan check will be carried out to check for forbidden objects and dangerous and explosive materials. The scanning process cannot damage your camera, photo films, GSM or other equipment. After the security control, your baggage will be loaded into the aircraft. Checking in at home
